At the heart of Big River Forge are the same tools and techniques that have been used to hand forge knives and other objects for hundreds of years. We continue that tradition today by hand forging and hand finishing each and every knife, one at a time. From the 100+ year old coal forge to the 150+ year old anvil and even the 100+ year old power hammer we place a high value on the traditions and the tools of the blacksmiths that came before us.
Every knife that comes out of Big River Forge has been hand forged and hand finished by American Bladesmith Society Journeyman Smith, Charles Carpenter.
