Clip Point Feather Damascus - Walnut
This smaller sized hidden tang hunter features a low layer feather pattern Damascus blade as well as Damascus guard and collar. It also features a filed bronze spacer and a figured Black Walnut handle that has been stabilized for long lasting durability.. This is a beautiful knife with a very unique look whether you are going to town or going to the woods.
This knife, just like all other knives out of my shop, is completely made by me, from raw materials, start to finish. The blade on this little hunter is hand forged from high carbon 1084 and 15N2 steels. This knife has a clip point blade that is very wide spine to make it extremely rugged for any outdoor activity and will be fantastic for skinning and processing wild game. The blade is 3-3/4” long while the overall length is 8-1/2”. This knife also comes with ambidextrous Sheath that can be worn forward of backward on either the right or left side. It is fully lined, hand tooled, and hand sewn full grain leather sheath that adds to its very distinctive look.
The new trend in the custom knife maker world seems to be to have a steel supplier water jet out a blade blank and then send it to someone else to grind and heat treat. By the time the (maker) receives the blade the only thing remaining to to in order to finish the knife is to add the makers mark and install the pre-shaped handle scales. I personally don’t believe in (making) knives this way. I believe that every step of the process of making the knives I build and sell should be done one hundred percent by me in order to get my makers makers mark. You don’t have to agree with me but I simply believe that if a customer is buying a knife from a custom maker, it should be a knife that is hand forged and hand finished by the maker.
