Build your skills at Big River Forge
At Big River Forge we believe that one of our primary missions must be to share the craft and knowledge base of traditional forging as well as the art of bladesmithing with anyone who has the desire to learn.
We are excited to announce that for the first time, beginning in the Fall of 2022, we will be offering one and two day classes for all experience levels.
Maybe you are a complete novice who simply has developed an interest in knife making and forging but have never even been in a traditional forge. Big River Forge has the perfect opportunity for you to give it a try. Taking a introductory class in a working forge is the best way to find out if Bladesmithing is right for you.
On the other end of the spectrum, you may be a more experienced knife maker but want to build and improve your skill levels. We will have classes that will help you get to the next level.
With maximum class sizes of only three students (depending on the type of class) the classes we offer will be very hands on and will provide you with all of the one on one time you need with ABS Journeyman Smith - Charles Carpenter.
Our goal is to offer classes that will fit your specific needs as closely as possible. The last thing we want is for you to spend your time and money on a class with us, and in the end, not get what you had hoped for.
