This quillon dagger has a blade that is approximately 10.5” long. The blade consists of 315 layers laddered W’s and has been hand forged from 1084 and 15N20 high carbon steels. The guard, windowed pommel cup, and pommel nut have all been hand crafted from silicone bronze and have also been antiqued to create a very dark appearance. The two spacers and pommel are all 1084/15N20 Damascus. The handle is hand fluted African Blackwood with a twisted wire inlay of bronze. This is a beautiful example of a renaissance era quillon dagger. Ever piece and detail of this dagger has been painstakingly hand forged and hand crafted from raw materials to finished product by American Bladesmith Society Journeyman Bladesmith Charles Carpenter. This dagger would be an exquisite centerpiece to any collection.
