Big River Forge Blacksmith Shop

At Big River Forge you will find two very distinctive experiences. Although our primary focus has always been on exceedingly high quality custom knives, we also offer traditional hand forged blacksmith items for use in the home, on the homestead, or in the great outdoors.

In the Knife Shop you will find a selection of one of a kind hand forged and hand finished knives of the highest quality. All knives are one of a kind and each is created 100% start to finish from raw materials to finished product by American Bladesmith Society Journeyman Smith Charles Carpenter.

In the blacksmith shop you will find a wide variety of traditionally made blacksmith items for the home, on the farm or in the great outdoors. As with the knife shop, all items from the Big River Forge Blacksmith Shop are the sole work of Blacksmith/Bladesmith Charles Carpenter. All items are created with traditional tools and methods. No matter what items you are purchasing today you can rest assured that it has been forged from the highest quality materials utilizing little more than a traditional coal forge, vintage anvil, and hand hammers. Well, those things plus a great deal of imagination, muscle power, and sweat.
